faith, gratitude, hope

this year stripped away essentials, leaving me to adapt

I continued standing, with a heart full of new abundance

every loss replaced with hope so vast it filled the cracks

clinging on to life as the weight of the world pressed down

voices rose in the quiet when I had no strength to speak

hands reached out when the load seemed unbearable

their gifts became lifelines, their presence a quiet balm

I walked forward with gratitude etched in every step

faith was the thread I held as the world frayed at the edges

hope the small ember that shielded me against storms

each sacrifice became a lesson, each trial a prayer

and my spirit found strength when I thought it was gone

as the new year approaches I stand taller, my heart open wide

the road ahead glimmers not with certainty, but with promise

what I lost in the darkness pales against what I gained

and I carry the love of those who lifted me through to light

this year has forged me into something stronger, yet flexible

a vessel not of despair but of boundless gratitude and pride

each new day a reminder of grace unearned yet freely given

and the beauty of a hope that refuses to fade into the night

and now the horizon calls with a quiet voice of renewal

its light stretching over the edges of doubt and uncertainty

inviting me to step forward into the unknown not with fear

but with courage shaped by the past destined for the future

with hopes that the new year breathes its first moments softly

each one a chance to begin again, to walk a new path

to weave faith into every action and to let hope bloom

trusting that goodness and kindness waits beyond the bend

what lies ahead may not be easy but it holds the promise of discovery

growth born from resilience and joy carved from the simple acts of living

every kindness shown to me this year becomes a seed I carry forward

to scatter where others now struggle, to repay the love given to me

as the days unfold I choose to greet them with openness

to let my heart remain soft despite its scars of the past

to see not just what I have endured but what I have overcome

to walk with gratitude lighting the way, with faith as my only guide Romans 5:3-4

"Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope."
